Are you tired of seeing your hair thinning, falling, or breaking? Do you wish you had thicker, fuller, and healthier hair that shines and bounces? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be interested in a new study that shows how millet and keratin can work together to boost your hair growth.

Millet is a type of cereal grain that has been cultivated for thousands of years in Africa and Asia. It is rich in protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It is also gluten-free and easy to digest. Millet can provide many health benefits, such as supporting your digestive health, blood sugar control, heart health, and immune system.

Keratin is a type of protein that is the main component of your hair, skin, and nails. It provides strength, elasticity, and protection to your hair. Keratin can also improve your hair’s appearance, texture, and shine. However, keratin can be damaged by various factors, such as aging, stress, pollution, heat styling, chemical treatments, or poor nutrition. This can lead to hair loss, breakage, dryness, or dullness.

A recent study conducted by Najima et al. (2016) examined the effect of millet extract with keratin powder on hair restoration. The study was a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind trial that involved 42 subjects who suffered from thinning hair. The subjects were divided into two groups: one group received the test food (a tablet containing millet extract with keratin powder), and the other group received a placebo (a tablet without millet extract or keratin powder). The subjects were instructed to take six tablets per day for 12 weeks.

The study measured five indicators of scalp condition (inflammation, rash, amount of dandruff, pore-clogging, and sebum capacity), the thickness of the hair, and subjective reporting of the hair (fallout of the hair in shampooing and daily life, tension of the hair, texture of the hair, sebum capacity of the scalp, and itching of the scalp).

The results showed that after 12 weeks of ingestion, the test group had significant improvements in the thickness of the hair (+0.02 mm), rash (-0.8 points), pore-clogging (-0.7 points), and sebum capacity (-0.9 points) compared to the placebo group. The test group also reported significant improvements in subjective evaluation: fallout of the hair in shampooing and daily life (-1.2 points), tension of the hair (+1.1 points), texture of the hair (+1.2 points), sebum capacity of the scalp (-1.3 points), and itching of the scalp (-1.4 points). No adverse effects were observed after the ingestion of the test food.

The researchers concluded that millet extract with keratin powder was effective for hair restoration. They suggested that millet extract with keratin powder could stimulate hair growth by providing essential nutrients and antioxidants to the hair follicles and by enhancing keratin synthesis and quality.

If you are looking for a natural and safe way to improve your hair health and appearance, you may want to give millet extract a try. You can find it online or in health food stores. You may be surprised by how much difference it can make for your hair.
